Celebrating Nova Scotia Farms and Food
Nova Scotia fruit and vegetable producers are working hard to put fresh, safe, affordable and delicious food on the tables of Nova Scotia residents. On March 31, 2010, the Nova Scotia Fruit Growers’ Association is hosting a public event to showcase Nova Scotia farms and their produce titled: ‘Food Connections 2010: Hats off to Fruits and Vegetables!’. “Nova Scotia Agriculture is more than food on your plate”, says Mary Lou Power of the Nova Scotia Fruit Growers Association. “The size and scope of our industry has changed. When you buy Nova Scotia fruits and vegetables, you’re investing in Nova Scotia farms and food and the future of the Nova Scotia agricultural industry. Nova Scotia residents need to hear about our vibrant industry”.
Speakers at the conference to be held at the Kentville Agricultural Research Centre, Kentville, Nova Scotia on March 31, include Andrew van Oostrum, from Van Oostrum Farms , Mary Sue Waisman, dietitian, chef and cookbook author and many more. This day is dedicated to having consumers connect to Nova Scotia farms and food and is sponsored by the Nova Scotia Fruit Growers Association, Horticulture Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Agriculture and Select Nova Scotia.
Space is limited at this day long, public, reasonably priced event at $20 per person, including GST, lunch and a sampling from local producers. Get ready for spring and enjoy some delicious Nova Scotia produce.
