The Farm Environmental Stewardship Award is in its eighth year of recognizing the dedication and commitment that Nova Scotia farmers have for protecting our environment. This award was established to highlight producers who make soil, water and habitat stewardship a significant part of their farm operations. Farms can apply or be nominated each spring. Their applications are reviewed by a judging panel and are narrowed down for farm visits. Once applications are reviewed and farm visits completed, the award finalists and winner are determined.
Do you know of a farm that has undertaken projects to protect soil, water or wildlife habitat? Nominate them for Nova Scotia’s Farm Environmental Stewardship Award! To be eligible for the award, a farm must:
- Have a current Environmental Farm Plan
- Have a current farm registration
- Be a member of the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture
We encourage individuals and groups to nominate farms that are contributing positively to the environment. Nominees should be involved in developing the award application. Click here for more information and to download application/nomination form.
